TipMefy privacy policy

This policy covers the TipMefy app and the launch list on tipmefy.com. TipMefy ("we") is the developer of the app.
What we collect and why
On your phone. What you enter: tips, hours, workplaces and their wages, shift types, tip-out rules, your goal, your settings, and your name if you set one. It stays in the app's storage on your device, and without an account none of it leaves your phone. Your device backups include it if you have them on; Apple or Google hold those under their own terms.
If you create an account (optional and free), we hold your email address and a copy of that data, so losing your phone does not lose your history.
If you subscribe to Pro, Apple handles payment; we never see your card, billing address or Apple ID. Apple tells us, through RevenueCat, that a subscription started, renewed or ended, and we store the plan, when the paid period ends, and the store's identifier for your subscription, to know whether Pro is active.
Usage measurement. Unless you switch it off, the app records how it is used, to find where it confuses people: that a screen was opened, that setup reached or stopped at a step, that a shift was logged, that a locked view was tapped, that the subscription screen was seen. It cannot record any amount, workplace, city, note, hours, name or email.
The launch list. If you ask on tipmefy.com for an email when TipMefy is on the App Store, we keep your email address and when you gave it, for that one email only, separate from any ledger.
We do not sell your data, show advertising or use advertising identifiers.
Who we share it with
These service providers process data on our behalf, receive only what is listed, and provide the same or equal protection of it as this policy:
- Supabase holds your account, if you create one: your email address and the copy of your ledger, stored in the United States.
- RevenueCat handles subscriptions. Opening the Pro screen asks it for local prices, carrying no account, email or work data; it is not contacted before that. If you subscribe, it is told your account id, so Pro follows your account to a new phone.
- PostHog processes the anonymous usage measurement.
- Cloudflare hosts the launch list: your email address and when you gave it.
Apart from your own account copy, nothing about your money is sent to anyone, and we share nothing with anyone else.
Keeping and deleting your data
- On your phone, data stays until you delete it: Settings → Data & privacy → Delete everything. An account copy is not affected.
- Your account stays until you delete it: Settings → Data & privacy → Account → Delete my account removes the account and our copy permanently, and leaves your phone's data in place. Signing out deletes nothing.
- Usage measurement stops when you switch it off in Settings → Data & privacy. The app works the same.
- The launch list address is deleted once the launch email is sent. For earlier removal, write to support@tipmefy.com from that address.
- A subscription is cancelled in your Apple ID settings, and cancelling takes nothing from your records.
These are also how you withdraw consent.
Reviewing or changing your data
You can see, correct and delete everything you entered in the app, and export it on your phone as a CSV, a backup file or a year-in-review PDF. For anything else, write to support@tipmefy.com.
Security
Data on your phone has the protection your phone gives app data; TipMefy adds no encryption of its own. In an account, every record is tied to its owner and the database lets only that owner read it. We do not read your entries, and no internal tool browses them.
Do Not Track
TipMefy does not track people across other websites or apps, so it does not change its behaviour for Do Not Track signals.
Children
TipMefy is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If a change affects what is collected, the app will tell you, and the effective date above will change.
